Stand-Up, Host/Emcee, Message

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Phil DiTommaso was a natural comedian since birth. In the maternity ward, instead of all the babies crying, Phil had them laughing. They were a great crowd!

After spending some time performing at various comedy clubs throughout New York City, God touched Phil's life. He made a decision to live his life for The Lord Jesus Christ. God literally cleaned up Phil's act. Phil went from being a foul-mouthed, angry comic, to the clean, mature professional you see today. In fact, Phil will sometimes share what God has done in his life during or after his performance.

Phil’s routine is riveting. His audience participation will keep you on your seats. Phil's Italian-American heritage makes up one of the most unique performances you will ever see. Although his routine is laced with characters and impressions, Phil's impression of Robert DeNiro portraying Moses in the movie “The Ten Commandments” is hilarious.

Over the past 15 years, Phil DiTommaso has traveled all over the country entertaining audiences at various clubs as well as doing many radio and television spots.  Venues Phil has performed at include The Improv in New York and L.A., Carolines and The Gotham Comedy Club in New York, Bonkerz in Orlando as well as headlining at Stand-up New York's Clean Comedy Night, performing his one man show off-broadway in NYC and co-hosting Orlando’s WTLN morning radio show.

Phil DiTommaso has also performed at many churches across the country such as Assemblies of God, First Baptist, Nazarene, Methodist and Catholic as we DO NOT discriminate against denominations. Phil has also performed at The National Outreach convention in San Diego and the convention for The National Religous Broadcasters Association in Dallas, Texas. Phil's latest video is a one hour Family Network Television special called "Banana's."

This versatility has helped Phil grow into what people have called "a real professional who is a natural in front of a crowd." His clean, family-oriented comedy is why Phil has been a success in front of such a wide variety of audiences.

"Although comedy has always been a passion of mine, it has not always been centered around or glorified Jesus Christ. While I was pursuing a career in comedy in New York in the early part of my life, the loss of someone very close to me caused me to step out of the fast pace of New York and take a personal evaluation of my life; where it was going and where would I spend eternity when it ended. I didn't know where to turn, so I felt that if there were any answers to spiritual questions no one could tell me better than if I read it myself. I went to look for a Bible. I was never one to take someone's word on any matter. I had to search it out myself. I never really had a relationship with God as a child, things were always tough and I guess I blamed him for all the bad stuff instead of trusting him through it.

"After casually starting to read the Gospel of Matthew, the words started to jump off the page. I knew I needed a Savior and Jesus was the man. I found a Spirit-filled church that preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ and soon, God's Holy Spirit started to do His work. Can I say that God literally "cleaned up my act." I gradually went from a foul-mouthed abusive comedian to the performer/minister that I am today. God has taken me a long way and is still working in me. That was about 14 years ago, but now when I do a show I try to slip in something about my testimony in a light hearted, casual way. Some have called me a "Subliminal Evangelist." I have done as many outreaches and benefits as I have done "shows." That includes prisons, missions, homes for runaways and so on. I feel that the gift to make people laugh needs to be spread not only "in" the church, but through the church walls and out into the community. Over the years I have frequently talked with pastors and leaders on what their goals or plans are for the evening and to be versatile in their program.

"Although many people quote proverbs 17:22 when dealing with comedians, the scripture that jumped out at me from the very beginning is Genesis 21:6. It talks about how God caused Sarah to laugh at the news of the birth of Isaac. I believe God wants us to laugh and be filled with joy. I know that this is a very important ministry because for that one evening, when you hear the laughter, no one has any problems, anxieties or concerns for that period of time."

"There is a great ministry in laughter. I have always enjoyed comedy personally, but as you well know, it has been difficult to find secular comedy routines that aren't laced with suggestive and downright lewd content. It was a special treat to laugh with no sense of inappropriateness. I also appreciated the way in which you incorporated your personal testimony into your presentation. There were several non-believers and first time visitors at the Dessert. They had a very positive first experience with our church."
- Pastor Steve, Bethel Evangelical Free Church

"The Lord used you, Phil to bless everyone with the gift of humor. Please continue using that gift, the body of Christ needs it. Thanks again for being part of our Coffee House. You got us off to a great start."
- Pastor Leon, Calvary Assembly of God

"He IS funny! He sees the humor in everyday situations and can lift people to enjoy laughing, without putting others down and without the off-color jokes so common to contemporary stand-up comedians. He has good taste, so that he won't offend your Christian conscience.

"His Brooklyn accent and his humble attitude warmly add to the fun of his humor.

"He will not only make your people laugh and enjoy themselves, but he will also point them to Jesus as the One who brings lasting joy."

- Dean, Associate Pastor, New Hope Fellowship

"You were so funny and you ministered to us, and we just had a great time. We look forward to having you back again, and I will make sure that anyone who asks for a comedian gets your name as well."

- Pastor Tom, Trinity Fellowship Assembly of God
