Improv, Interactive and Message

The Panic Squad is Andrew Bright, Cliff Prang and Scott Campbell… three seemingly ordinary guys who combine their love for entertaining with unique improv powers as they perform hilarious, out-of-thin-air comedy for diverse audiences across North America.
The Panic Squad performs improvised comedy—fast-paced and on-the-spot comedy--based on suggestions and participation from the audience. It is an interactive style of comedy that has grown extremely popular in recent years. While the Squad’s performance is very similar in style to Theater Sports and “Whose Line is it Anyway?” once you take in a Panic Squad show, you quickly realize an important difference.
The Panic Squad delivers CLEAN comedy without sacrificing the FUNNY.
The team prides themselves on genuine, wholesome laughter, not those nervous chuckles solicited by below the belt material. The Panic Squad is determined to send a strong message - “comedy can be clean AND exceptional. It can be wholesome AND ridiculous-crazy-funny!”

Cliff Prang
Cliff Prang was raised in Ottawa, Ontario…CANADA. Cliff attended Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Saskatchewan where he earned a BA in Pastoral Leadership and met a girl. Cliff and Sharalee Rose were married August 7, 1999 and now reside in Abbotsford, B.C. Cliff joined the Squad in June of 2001 after 2 years of searching to discover the WHAT and WHEN of life. Ever since the tenth grade when he first discovered he had a funny bone (not just a silly bone), Cliff has loved performing Improv Comedy. Pressure. Adrenaline. Impulse. Team Work. Trust. Wit. Energy… and God created…so we too create, and that's what Cliff has always loved and that's what Cliff shall continue to do. "I have learned that when you dedicate your talents to the ONE who provided them, your efforts will surely be blessed.” Cliff's love for the Lord and for drama has led him to performances with the Pacific Theatre and the Vancouver Theatre Sports League. "I am thankful to God for honoring me with opportunities to do what I love to do. I am thankful for Sharalee who loves and supports me. I am thankful for Scott for stage time at Pacific Theater, nudging me to VTSL, and then introducing me to the Squad. Panic Squad is a gift. I do not look at it as a ticket to make myself known, rather as fulfilling a commission to making the Truth of the Living God known. World-Domination-Through-Improvisation!?! If that's what God wants, then I am pumped to be on board."
Cliff's Favorite Verse is 2 Timothy 1:7… God has not given us a spirit of fear, hesitation and timidity, rather His Spirit allows us to love and be loved, to live in His power and authority on earth, and the ability to USE YOUR BRAIN to make wise choices that honor him. (CDJP paraphrase version)
Scott Campbell
Scott Campbell is a guy. Growing up just outside of Vancouver BC, Canada, Scott began playing organized improv while in high school. When he started his formal education at Trinity Western University – the school's late night improv league was a delightful surprise. Upon graduating from TWU in 1999 with a degree in theatre, Scott began a 5-year run with Pacific Theatre, finishing up as the company’s Artistic Producer. Scott also taught for four semesters at TWU in the Fine Arts and Drama Departments molding younger minds in the areas of art appreciation, acting and production. Scott has also trained with Vancouver’s Theatresports League and spent a season playing main stage, which included the premier of Impro-vivor, an improv spoof of Survivor. Scott also teaches, directs, acts and designs for theatre.
Scott lives in North Vancouver (the city, not North OF Vancouver) with his beautiful wife Margaret and his son Hudson and daughter Imogene. Scott is very active in the leadership of their church, Capilano Christian Community. “The reasons I play with the Squad are many and varied. When we perform we are given the opportunity to create a moment with an audience. In that time we build some community, sharing joy and laughter. My hope would be that we are some how "gifting" our audience and perhaps contributing to the fullness of life. It's tremendous. Plus, I get to meet great people from around the continent. On the other side of the performing, I find working with the team challenges me to discover more about myself and who I want to become – creatively, relationally, spiritually, intellectually, physically (no joke). It’s an awesome classroom and I’m schooled daily. I hesitate, but groove on John 15. It can smack ya.”
Andrew Bright
Andrew Bright discovered his love for improv at Trinity Western University, where he became part of the comedy improve league after being asked to fill in for a sick player. Five minutes on stage and he knew he was home. “God wires us to be who we are, like what we like, excel at things other people do not (that’s why I don’t teach math and why my wife takes care of the bills). Hopefully we all find the niche God designed us for, like I did that evening on stage.” Hint: Ask Him.
In 1996 Andrew started The Panic Squad with a group of other improvisers from TWU. “Graduation didn’t seem like a good enough reason to stop doing what we loved.” The rest is history. History full of joy, fear, faith, adrenaline and fulfillment.
Andrew currently resides in Lynden, WA with his incredible wife, Karla and baby daughter Katelyn (born October 12th, 2005!). When not seeking global improv domination with the Squad, Andrew entertains his passion for spreading the joy of Christ through speaking opportunities for various Christian camps, retreats and conferences.
In Andrew’s view, The Panic Squad has two goals: to make people laugh very hard, and to help them discover why that laugh is so deep and so real. The Panic Squad is convinced that their strength in improv is ultimately in the Joy of the Lord. “Our job is to display that joy to our audience, to display an energy and enthusiasm for life that causes people to say, ‘where can I get some of that?!”
Been looking for laughter in all the wrong places? There is no better life than one centered on Christ. There is no greater joy than to shine brilliantly with God's love among the murky majority. Take it from three funny fighting men. Still wondering? Take it from God's own word.
"Wow! What a great evening! You guys were exactly what we were looking for—a quality evening of fun and laughter. You excelled in both! Thanks for making the first outreach of the year very successful, not only in numbers, but in the right balance of fun and sharing your faith as well. We are looking forward to having you back again!"
- Kirk Lauckner, Outreach and Worship Pastor, Hopevale Church, Saginaw, MI
"The Panic Squad does an amazing job of performing soul therapy. By using
witty, quick, smart humor, they open up and tenderize the heart through
laughter. Simply put, they are great. You should use them."
– David Nasser, Author and Speaker, Atlanta, GA
"I don't know how you do it, but watching a man turn into a sheep while his wool is being cleaned by a narcoleptic brain surgeon with a vacuum was one of the most hilarious things I've ever seen. Thanks guys!"
- Linda Mattos, Bellvue, WA
"I really don’t know what all to say. I went to your show not knowing what to expect. I brought an array of family to the show, my daughter is 7, my wife and I are in our 30’s and my mother-in-law is in her 60’s. We all loved it! I could not have asked for a better performance and sharper comedy anywhere. I truly appreciated the testimony and genuine concern for God’s heart that your team displays. I hope to get to see you again very soon!"
– Frank Bethle, New Castle, PA
"Pant-splitting, convulsing, contagious, uncontrolled laughter gripped the audience as The Panic Squad did their thing. What I really appreciated about their ministry is the unquestionable mission they foster. The Panic Squad is truly committed to clean comedy for the purpose of edifying God."
– Sean Taylor, Pastor of Students, North County Christ the King, Lynden, WA
"The Panic Squad did an excellent job in providing entertainment for our banquet. The banquet is our major public relations/fundraising event of the year with 1,400 adult guests."
– John Courtney, Executive Director, Youth For Christ Winnipeg, Winnipeg, MB
"I booked The Panic Squad for an all ages community outreach event…The purpose was to use great entertainment as a tool for our congregation to invite their unbelieving friends to a fun family oriented evening. The Panic Squad did an excellent job providing very funny comedy with out crossing any lines. We look forward to bringing them back again!"
– Eldon Stephenson, Associate Pastor, Church on the Hill, Norco, CA
"I just wanted to thank you for performing at our Comedy Improv Dessert Theatre in March. It was our first time doing this type of outreach event and it was a great success. Since the event I have heard nothing but positive feedback. Everyone was thrilled not only with the turnout but the quality of the event. I have seen many Improv groups and I would have to say that The Panic Squad is as good, if not better, than any I’ve seen. We will use you again!"
– Lynn Fleshman, Outreach Committee, Creekside Covenant Church, Redmond, WA
"I was actually hoping the scene would be over soon so I could breathe again. I was afraid I might pass out! I’ve never laughed so hard in my life!"
– Shannon Demant, Tour & Marketing Director, Christian College and University Tour
"I have booked The Panic Squad for each of my events over the past five years and will continue booking them in the future. They are an energetic group of guys that God has gifted with the ability to convey clean humour with great enthusiasm. They are extremely well received by the audience…I am particularly impressed with their ability to maintain a high level of humour in an extremely Christian manner. They adapt to a variety of age groups and do well in front of audiences ranging from several hundred to over 15,000."
– Mike Love, Extreme Dream Productions, Edmonton, AB
